“The passion for flowers has been with me since childhood. I grew up in France and I always knew one thing for sure: I want to do something with flowers later. Coincidentally, I had an uncle who worked in flowers and thanks to him, I was introduced to OZ-Hami in the Netherlands. I then immediately set about arranging an internship there! Once I had two months at OZ-Hami, I didn’t really want to leave. And so, after my internship, I kept calling them until I got to work permanently as a salesperson for region France. I then crammed everything that could go with me into my Citroën and drove that way to the Netherlands for the love of the job! Now I am happy to work every day with the áll most beautiful product in the world, flowers! Because the moment you buy a flower, you buy not only a lot of colour, but also beautiful memories and feeling. For example, I once had someone on the line who wanted her wedding to have her late grandmother’s favourite flowers. Then again, if you can arrange that for someone, it’s the best feeling in the world. That is why I am happy that at OZ-Hami I can really do something special with my passion for flowers.”The latest news.
OZ-Hami and preferred partners work together during Pink Ribbon
Together with our preferred partners, we raised €7,500 for Pink Ribbon by selling a special selection of flowers. This wonderful amount, supported by contributions from the Dutch Flower Foundation and Coloriginz, will go to Pink Ribbon, an organisation dedicated to the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. Breast cancer in the Netherlands Breast cancer affects thousands of Dutch people every year: 1 in 7 people are affected, and an average of nine people die from the disease every day. Pink Ribbon focuses on funding innovative projects and research for early detection, better treatments and a more pleasant life after the disease. Support Pink Ribbon As part of International Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, we joined forces with Pink Ribbon once again. The ‘Support Pink Ribbon’ campaign offered a special collection of flowers from 14 to 18 October. A donation was made for every stem sold, raising money as well as awareness for breast cancer research and awareness. The campaign and the amount of €7,500 was realised thanks to the support of our preferred partners: Anthogether, Bernhard, Coloriginz, Van der Drift, Dutch Lily Masters, Gerbera United, Holstein Flowers, J.P. Hogewoning, Lugt Lisianthus, Marginpar, Pico Bello Hortensia, Qualily, Sonneveld Hydrangea, Together2Grow and Voorn Spray Roses.
Successful launch of Preferred Partner Program at first Partner Event
The very first OZ-Hami Preferred Partner Event took place on Wednesday the 4th of September. An important step within the new Preferred Partner Program (PPP). This program, launched early this year, was created to work more closely with OZ-Hami growers. The goal is joint growth and improvement, focusing on activities such as “Grower of the Week” and data sharing. All 15 affiliated preferred partners were represented at the event, with a total of more than 30 participants. From OZ-Hami, several members of the management team, as well as teamleads of the purchasing and sales departments, attended. Together they looked ahead to the future and essential topics such as growth, collaboration and innovation were discussed in detail. Led by Siemen ten Bruggencate, they actively participated in thinking about ways to strengthen the partnership and achieve the strategic goals. “It was a very successful event, packed with valuable insights and ideas for the future,” said Ruben Sicking and Reinier Haasnoot, who opened the meeting with a presentation on OZ-Hami’s strategy. After the presentations and discussions, the growers were given the opportunity to sign the contract, confirming their commitment to further collaboration. The positive feedback from participating growers underscores the success of the event. This Preferred Partner Event provides a solid foundation for a lasting partnership, with OZ-Hami and its partners working together to build a colorful future in floriculture.
OZ-Hami celebrates 65th anniversary!
The year 2024 marks an important milestone for OZ-Hami, as it will be 65 years since Arie Ofman and Klaas van Zijverden founded OZ Export. A good reason to celebrate this iron jubilee with a big party. On May 25, with the central theme of “Crazy Town,” this milestone was celebrated with a huge party, including cocktail bar, photo booth, VIP room and various food trucks. What made this anniversary extra special was the fact that this was the first joint OZ-Hami celebration since the merger of OZ Export and Hamifleurs in 2020. After several challenging years, all OZ-Hami colleagues can be proud of where OZ-Hami stands today: the merger has made the organization stronger, more future-proof and this anniversary symbolizes the resilience of OZ-Hami and its rich (shared) history. We look back on an evening with a golden edge and look confidently to the future, together with our great team of colleagues, growers, customers and other valuable associates!
